TACA Arts Insider: A Conversation with PNC’s Mark Zacheis
PNC has been such a valued supporter of TACA. What draws you and your team to TACA’s mission, and why is this partnership meaningful to you?
TACA truly represents the gold standard in supporting the arts community. Their work with more than 60 arts organizations ensures that funding and resources reach groups that make Dallas vibrant and culturally rich. For PNC, having a partner like TACA is invaluable, it helps us identify and support worthy organizations we might not have discovered.
On a personal level, my day-to-day focus is on Private Banking, investments, and building the best team for PNC in Dallas. TACA opens a door to experiences and organizations that would not typically cross my desk. That exposure sparks creativity and broadens my perspective. We often talk about work-life balance, but I believe we also need to balance the analytical and creative aspects of our lives to be our best for our families, colleagues, and clients. TACA helps me bring that creative energy into my thinking and leadership.
TACA’s work touches so many parts of the arts community. How does that broad impact align with PNC’s vision for community support?
TACA’s broad reach across the arts community aligns perfectly with PNC’s commitment to fostering vibrant communities. Through our philanthropic giving, we aim to make the arts accessible, engaging, and sustainable for everyone. We believe that the arts are not just entertainment, they are a catalyst for creativity, education, and economic vitality. By supporting organizations that bring diverse artistic experiences to life, we help strengthen the cultural fabric that makes communities thrive.
PNC’s vision for community support is rooted in creating opportunities for growth and inclusion. The arts play a critical role in that vision by inspiring innovation, connecting people, and enriching lives. TACA’s ability to support more than 60 organizations ensures that this impact is widespread, reaching audiences of all ages and backgrounds. That alignment is why our partnership with TACA is so meaningful, it amplifies our shared goal of building stronger, more inclusive communities through the power of the arts.
Looking at the past year, is there a particular arts experience that really stood out to you or reminded you why investing in the arts matters?
One experience that stands out is our recent engagement with Broadway Dallas. Just last week, we attended a spotlight dinner that offered a sneak peek of the upcoming performance of “The Outsiders.” The evening was inspiring. The young actors/actresses were so passionate about their roles, and their talent was incredible. It gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and the passion that drives these productions. Based on that preview, I’m eagerly anticipating the full performance. Moments like these remind me why investing in the arts matters, it’s about creating experiences that connect people, spark imagination, and strengthen the cultural fabric of our community.
In addition to his role at PNC, Mark Zacheis also serves on TACA’s Board of Directors. PNC and the PNC Foundation support the Dallas community through grants and partnerships focused on early childhood education, economic development, and arts and culture.
