Announcing Our Newest Pop-Up Grantees
Creating and sharing art amidst a global pandemic is no simple task! That is why we created TACA Pop-Up Grants – to celebrate and reward local arts organizations for programming that demonstrates exceptional quality, creativity & innovation, and accessibility & inclusion. Grantees were selected via a nomination process that incorporates 35 anonymous local volunteers. Pop-Up Grants are an important component of the TACA Resiliency Initiative – a focused effort to support and strengthen Dallas arts and cultural organizations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. ‘Me & My Masks’ Monologue Competition
Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC) is an award-winning, multicultural, multidisciplinary arts institution. Founded in September of 1993, BATC’s mission is to cultivate a diverse and vibrant arts community while creating sustainable opportunities for local and emerging artists through performances and education. Me & My Masks is a national monologue competition on Labor Day where 12 finalists competed for a chance to win $5,000 in cash and prizes. BATC received over 380 submissions from 43 U. S. States and 5 countries. Lizzie B. Combs from Oak Cliff received 3rd place for her script titled Film Studies 101. Catch the rebroadcast of Me & My Masks on September 25th from 5:00-7:30 p.m. – Tickets are $5!

Black Art Matters: A DSM Digital Series
For nearly 80 years, Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) has presented the very best in Broadway to North Texas audiences. The Dallas Opera (TDO) is a world-class performing arts organization producing outstanding main stage and chamber opera repertoire, attracting national and international attention, committed to extensive community outreach and education, and managed to the highest possible standards of artistic excellence, accountability, efficiency and financial sustainability. Launched in March 2020, TDO Network is a digital initiative which provides original programming that educates audiences about current topics in opera in an entertaining, accessible, and familiar format. Since then, TDO Network has reached 14 million viewers from 50 countries and is building, deepening, and refining relationships with patrons, both new and known.
