Responding to the COVID-19 Public Health Crisis

A Message from Terry D. Loftis
Responding to the COVID-19 Public Health Crisis

Dear TACA Family,

TACA shares the concerns of our arts and culture community during our public health crisis and the recent City of Dallas bans on larger public gatherings. The new restrictions will undoubtedly affect numerous arts organizations in our city. The delicate balance between protecting public health, while ensuring economic stability and the mission of arts organizations is a challenge we face together. In response to this current climate, TACA is postponing the Let’s TACAbout It! event with Avant Chamber Ballet on March 26, 2020 and the Amplifier Workshop scheduled for April 1, 2020.

In accordance with advice from health experts, TACA staff will work from home beginning Tuesday, March 17. Business operations will continue as normal, with staff available via business email addresses

A Message to our Grantees:

As planned, our 2020 Arts General Operating Grant distribution will be announced at the end of this month.  We support you in making the best decisions for the good of your artists, patrons and staff. If your organization is considering changes to a project funded by a TACA grant, please contact our staff via email. We understand the need to be flexible given the volatility of the current public health crisis.

In response to these developments and the potential impact on the earned revenue of organizations, TACA is developing plans to provide further support to organizations during this time of crisis.

To ensure a clear understanding of the challenges facing our grantee organizations and to collect the data needed for local and national advocacy, we hope you will consider completing this survey published today by American for the Arts on the impact of the pandemic on your organization’s operations. Thank you and be safe as we all move through this challenging period.

Wishing everyone safety and health,
Terry D. Loftis
