February 4, 2019: We kicked off 2019 with our TACA Grants Celebration where we announced support to 48 different arts organizations with grants totaling $753,000. The evening featured segments from the rock musical American Idiot performed by the teens of Junior Players.

March 18, 2019: We honored Margot B. Perot and J. Davis Hamlin for their volunteer leadership and outstanding contribution to the arts at our 41st Annual Silver Cup Award Luncheon at The Fairmont in the Dallas Arts District.

September 5, 2019: We announced a record $220,000 to support the creation of new works and artist residencies in North Texas!

Grantees include Avant Chamber Ballet (pictured above), Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas, Dallas Children’s Theater, Cry Havoc Theater Co.Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Theater CenterDark Circles Contemporary Dance, Junior Players, and Undermain Theatre.

The 2019 Artist Residency Fund was made possible by the Bowdon Family Foundation and Rea Charitable Trust. The 2019 New Works Fund was made possible by the Hersh Foundation, the Sapphire Foundation, and the Donna Wilhelm Family Fund.

September 10, 2019: We announced the upcoming honorees of the 2020 Silver Cup Award – Matrice Ellis-Kirk and Mike Rawlings. They will be honored on March 10, 2020, at the annual Silver Cup Award Luncheon as we thank them for their incredible service to Dallas and the arts and cultural community.

September 27, 2019: We hosted an Amplifier Workshop on racial equity in the arts for the leadership of local arts organizations, led by Race Forward: The Center for Racial Justice Innovation. The workshop was made possible by a grant from the Texas Instruments Foundation.

In 2019, our four Amplifier Workshops reached 112 unique attendees from 56 different local arts and cultural organizations.

October 4, 2019: Fall marked the return of one of the best food and drink events in Dallas – TACA Lexus Party on the Green! The event took place at Sammons Park at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and featured 19 signature dishes from some of Dallas’ best chefs and restaurants, a silent auction, and a wine cork pull. We also had live performances by Dallas Theater Center’s Tiffany Solano DeSena, Kierra, KJ and Kwinton Gray, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, and mixing by DJ Lucy Wrubel. Party on the Green returns this year on September 25, 2020!

October 28, 2019: This year’s community arts symposium, TACA Perforum, centered on The Arts’ Relevance in Contemporary Culture. Our expert panelists from New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. and audience participated in a panel discussion at the Nasher Sculpture Center and breakout sessions at the Crow Museum of Asian Art.
